Is that time again, the soccer world cup 2010 is going to begin on June 11. The World Cup is only held every four years and it only lasts one month. This year the matches are going to be held in South Africa. Nine cities are going to be hosting the games. The opening game is going to be held in the city of Johannesburg at the Ellis Park Stadium. The first match is going to be South Africa against Mexico. All the teams are ready for this huge event.
Thirty two countries are going to fight for the cup. Among the favorite teams are Brazil, USA, Mexico, Spain, France, Germany and Italy.
My favorite team is Honduras not because is the strongest one but because is the country where I was born. The last time my country was in the world cup was in 1982 which is the year that I was born, that is 28 years ago. In America not many people follow soccer but for all Latin American people the world cup is a big deal. Everybody is excited and ready for the games to begin. I wander who is going to be the World Champion this year? Could it be USA or maybe Brazil we will have to wait until July 11 to know the answer, may the best one win!

ReplyDeleteI think your post is very organized and clear. I completely agree with you, even though most American people do not really follow the world cup,for us latinos it is a huge event. To read your post makes me even more excited about watching the world cup. The only thing that I would change is I would put Portugal among the favorite teams haha.
